9 weeks old - worried shes overweight

Question
HI
When I first got my piggy she was 6 weeks old. I think I fed her too much goats milk as I've been reading that they should gain 1 lb/week, well after the first week I'm sure she gained 5 as her belly doubled from the first day we got her.
I've also been reading that she should only get 1/2 cup pellets/day and some sites are saying 1 1/2/day. others say feed her when she's hungry until 3 months of age.
Is it OK to put her on a diet and see how she does?
I'm thinking of giving her 1/2 cup of pellets and then veggies for lunch and for dinner some pellets and veggies mixed.
I don't want her to be overweight and have health issues.
As I am new I want to ensure I'm doing the right thing.

Answer
Feeding pigs can be more art than science. The important thing is that piggy gains about 1 lb per week. Don't try to go by appearance, take the time to actually weigh her on a scale.

Each piglet and environment is different. The more active a piglet is, the more they need to eat. Some breeders do free feed piglets until they are 8 to 12 weeks old.

The general rule of thumb is 1/2 cup pot-bellied pig food for piglets under 15 lb. Tiny piglets may not finish the whole amount, so in this case, it's the same as free feeding. It's best divided into at least two meals, along with veggies, fruits and some outside grazing time.

The calories from milk and treats can add up quickly. Gradually reduce the amount of milk each day, then start mixing it half and half with water, and finally just a bit of milk with water.
