Question

Wilber in his crate-
I have a new little 1 1/2 lb male piglet that we got Friday.  He woudn't eat or drink until Sunday when I went online and found out to try yogurt. I only had strawberry yogurt but he loves it.  Is that ok for him to have? He is drinking goats milk good, but not really eating the pig food.  I have tried blending it up with milk but he really doens't like it.   He prefers straight strawberry yogurt.
He seems well tho, sleeps alot, walks around some, but seems to be doing well.
What I am wondering if about his shaking or trembling.  Is that normal for a 8 week old piglet.  He seems to do it alot but when we wrap him up in a blanket and hold him close, he seems to get ok in 5 or 10 minutes.
This is all new to us.  We have 2 small shiz tzu puppies and they are doing well with him.  Mostly just interested in what he is.  He seems to be doing well with them also.
Please let me know what you think about the trembling and about the yogurt.
Thanks ahead of time for your assistance.
Should I have only straw in his crate, or do they like a blanket there also?

Answer
Hello,
First of all are you sure he is 8 weeks old?
He looks much younger than that.  By 8 weeks of age they should be well weaned and eating piglet chow.
Breeders should not sell them until they are ready for their new homes and they should educate their clients .
Piglets like to get under blankets.  They like to be warm so you may need to use a heat lamp until he gets older.
If you can send me more pictures I can give you a better idea of his age.  Please send pictures to patty012001@yahoo.com.
I will help you as much as I can.
