peeing normal?

Question
Hey my baby piggy is a year and two weeks. She had a litter box in the house but when we trained her to go outside she will not use the litter box anymore. Some days we cannot get her to go out but one time a day and she will pee and pee. Still she wont use her pee box. On warm, dry days she will go out two or three times a day. Is it normal that she would only pee one time a day and not go again? She seems healthy, but it worries me that she does this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Pigs like to potty in the same place all the time. That's why your pig potties outside and refuses to use the litter box.

It's better for her to pee more often than just once a day. Indoor pigs often don't like the cold outside. If there's some way of making her more comfortable when she goes out, she might be willing to go out more often. Perhaps a coat or sweater to keep her warm, or a snow-free, non-slippery path, a non-skid ramp instead of icy steps or a simple windbreak like a sheet of plastic over a couple of lawn chairs near her spot might make it easier for her to get out and go.

You could try luring her outside with a treat but if you try this trick, she may want a treat every time she goes out to potty.
