pooping

i just got an 8 week old pig. I got the pig wednesday night, and shortly after that she pooped 4 times. im a little concerned because she hasnt pooped since then. its now saturday morning. we keep the pig in a crate and she has free range of a small area in the house when we're home. she has peed a few times in her litter tray and i tried taking her outside to see if she would go but havent had any luck. Is this normal? how often does a pig normally goto the bathroom? any help you have would be greatly appriciated!

Hello,
At 8 weeks of age your piglet should have several BM's everyday.
There are several reasons why she has changed her bathroom habits.
Piglets are easily stressed and having just been weaned from her mother and going to a new home could cause this.
Also....changing her feed in any way is also very possible the reason.
If she is straining at all she could be constipated and you can give her a teaspoon of vegetable oil or prune juice. This should help her out.
If she still isn't back to having bowel movements you should contact your Vet.
