Question
i live in portland oregon need to find a vet who neuters potbellys and maybe be able to find some place that can give a discount certificate or something of that nature for neutering my piggy

Answer
It can be difficult to find a vet willing to see pot-bellied pigs.

There's a list of vets here:  http://www.petpigs.com/vet_list/map.html

If there's no one near you, I suggest calling the closest one and asking if they know of anyone closer who sees pot-bellied pigs.

Also, you might try looking up "veterinarians" in your local yellow pages, and just start calling them, asking if they see pot-bellied pigs or can recommend someone near you who does.

Male piggies have a scent gland in the middle of their belly. Most vets just leave this alone because the gland gradually stops working after neutering.

Neutered males also grow tusks, but much more slowly, and usually begin peeking out from under the lip around age 2-1/2 or 3, when the pig reaches adulthood.
