Question
Hi I have a 4 year old pot bellied pig named porkchop she used to live indoors but has "moved out" into her pen this year I also have a 3 year old lhasa apso dog and they get along very well , she is even tempered gets along well with children and even shared her bed with the puppies my dog had. We are thinking about getting 2 female duckilings that would share herp pen they would have there own indoor space tha. Porkchop would be unable to get to and there own pond for a swimming area. My question is do pigs and ducks get along and would both animals be safe sharing the same space ?

Answer
Pigs and ducks get along very well. The problem is that pigs adore poultry feed, but poultry feed is really not good for pigs. Medicated poultry feeds are especially bad. So as long as the feed is kept locked away from piggy, and the ducks are fed in a place that piggy can not reach, it should work well.

Pigs in the wild will eat eggs from the nests of ground birds. But a well cared for pet pig is unlikely to be hungry enough to bother with a female duck on a nest. I had ducks for several years, they chose to nest in the straw in the stall where my pot-bellied pigs slept! When the ducks were not nesting, they enjoyed sleeping on the pigs. When they were nesting, the pigs ignored the nest, eggs, and hatchlings.
