Question
My potbellie had one piglet this morning wich died, now I need to know how long does it take before she delivers all and at what intervals

Answer
I am not a veterinarian and can not make a medical diagnosis over the internet.

Pigs have three stages of labor. A day or two before labor begins, a sow usually begins nesting. During the first stage of labor, she will keep trying to go potty. This stage usually lasts between 8 and 24 hours.

The second stage is the actual birth of the piglets. The sow may have visible contractions. Piglets are usually born between 5 and 60 minutes apart, but they may come much quicker. Pieces of the placenta may come out with the piglets.

In the third stage, the placenta or its remains are expelled. The second and third stages should not take much longer than 24 hours to complete.

I highly recommend having your vet check your piggy and piglets, to prevent further deaths. The danger signs are lethargy, lack of appetite, and straining to go potty. If piggy or the piglets exhibit any of these symptoms, seek a vet at once. There's a list of vets that see pot-bellied pigs at www.farec.org
