Update To Piggers Has not Pood

Question
Helen, I want to thank you for your response! Sweet Pea is my 3rd piggers and I remembered when giving my other 2 a bath they would poo almost as soon as thier little feet hit the water. Sweet Pea is just barely 4 weeks old so I was afraid to give her a bath - however I decided a bath was the next thing to try - and it worked!! She poo'd a little bit, then nothing again Sunday. I have fed her pumpkin at almost every feeding aprox 2 teaspoons to 2 oz of fresh cows milk. Yesterday we went for a ride in the car and she poo'd again, not much but at least she poo'd. Today the temperature (in Ohio) has allowed me to take her outside for a bit of rooting and low and behold she poo'd on her own and quite a bit for such a little thing. My question is this - Should I continue to give her pumpkin and if so for how long as I do not want her to get diarrhea from it.

Answer
Glad to hear that Sweet Pea is Ok! I hope she continues to stay regular for you. If she's getting outside daily with an opportunity to graze, then it's probably best to discontinue the pumpkin right away. Grass is quite high in fiber. On the other hand, if she's going to be indoors for the next few days, then I'd continue the pumpkin to keep her regular. Usually diarrhea comes from a sudden change in diet. So if she's been eating the pumpkin for a few days now, it should not cause a problem by itself. Pumpkin combined with fresh grass could be a little too much.
