Does she act pregnant?

Question
I have a 3 year old pot belly pig, that has never been bred before. I put a male with her 2 months ago and both enjoyed the company. I noticed this week that she has been trying to ride him. Will a pregnant pig still want to "breed"? I have another female, and I never see her act like that when she has been bred, so is there a chance this one is pregnant, or does it not sound good? Thank you

Answer
Pot-bellied pig gestation is 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. Females usually display mating behavior only when they are in heat. They can not come into heat when they are pregnant. So, either your pig is not pregnant, or what you observed was not mating behavior but a disagreement.

Have you given some thought to what will happen to the babies? Hundreds of baby pigs are currently homeless, over 200 in Florida alone. Pots can live 10 - 20 years. That's a long commitment.
