Question
Hello,

I read your other response about shavings in pig litter boxes. What is your opinion on using Feline Pine pellets for pigs? Is it the same danger as clay litter? We are getting our new addition in a few days & want to find a good medium between our cats & the new piggy. Any info would be appreciated!!

                          Thank you-Myriah

Answer
People report having good luck with the pine pellets. Apparently, they don't taste or smell like clay pellets :) Some piggies might nibble one or two, others ignore them completely.

Because they contain wood, which is fiber, they are far less likely to cause impaction. There may be unknown dangers from whatever else is inside the pellets. But because pigs don't seem to like eating pine pellets the way they like eating clay pellets, the pine pellets are safer.

Every pig is different. If your pig decides pine pellets are tasty you can switch to another litter. Starting off with pine pellets is fine.
