Feeding Dumbo Rats

We are new owners of a dumbo rat! The Only Problem is that I think that she is bored with her regular rat food that we get at the pet store.What human foods can we give her and what should we avoid from giving her? Can you help us with a Human food menu that is safe for her to eat? Thank you so much for your time and help!

Absolutely I can help. Toss the pet store food aside, it probably is not the best thing for her.  You want to follow the guidelines listed on my site about proper diets, from what she can and cannot have. Rats need a low protein and low fat diet. High protein diets lead to kidney disease later in life so its  wise to choose a rat kibble that is no more than 15% protein.  Regal rat by oxbow is perfect for rats over 4 months old and harlan teklad rodent blocks are also good but sometimes its not enough.
