Answer
Hi Wezzi

Your right about the no blood, no worries with the play fighting. Baby rats live to play chase and wrestle each other. Unfortunately, part of this act includes urinating on each other to "mark" but is all normal play for healthy young bucks.   How long have you had them?

They will outgrow this type of behavior as they age, but enjoy it while you can, because they grow so fast and they really are only just having fun.

As for the nipping..for now, stop picking him up unless necessary.
He doesnt like it, he isnt ready for you to pick him up, so stop doing it so he can trust you.  If you listen to what his actions are saying, he will trust you but if he thinks your even a bit scared of him this will send negative energy to him.

Do you have a special place for them to play during play time?
That looks like a nice cage they are in. Is it a ferret nation?

Anyhow, please read my website on how to train scared rats and also check out the GETTING STARTED section  about setting up a proper area for playtime. This also helps shy rats become more at ease with their surroundings.
