I think my male rat attacked the female

Question
Can male rats show aggression to females and vice versa? I brought my male rat about a month ago and he was 8 wks and 3 wks later i bought a female. I noticed yesterday wen i went to clean there home that she had blood coming from her nose and was worried but thought she might have accidentally scratched her nose.It did cross my mind that the male may have attacked her and sadly i left them both  in there together. I hear big noises most nights but never cross'd me to go check. Today i went to check on them and make sure they had enough to eat and drink and noticed again that she was in pretty bad shape.

I am quite destroit as i think she might be dying, due to being a Sunday there is no vets opened and I'm scared to leave her on her own. I don't want her to be alone why she is suffering and wish i cud do something for her.
I'm not sure whether her foot is broken but she can't walk, it's like she is paralyzed. her nose has blood coming out and both eyes have been gauged. She is opening her mouth up constantly I'm assuming it's cause she's in pain but she's not squealing. I am so hoping that she will pull through but she might not make it through the night. She's a toughy, great temperament so i hope to have her for a long time yet.

Answer
Why did you put a male and a female together? Do you realize you're going to have babies?

Yes, males and females can be aggressive to either gender at any time. She may have been sick already, triggering aggression -- or he could just be a butthead. I'd say get her to a vet, there really is nothing you can do other than to have her treated immediately.
