Question
I live in a small town and my resources are limited.  I have a 10 week old pet rat and she has ear mites.  Took her back to the pet store where I got her and they said it was ear mites and that I could get my money back.  I want to know how to treat her.  I have Zema for Cats.  Can I use that?

Answer
Yes you can Use Zema But Olive Oil is much safer.
here is how to treat it:

Day 1: Take a Q-tip and cover it in the oil, Swab the ear and coat the scabs, DO NOT PICK the scabs out! leave the ears alone for a day

Day 3:  Repeat day one. until 30 days have past.

Day 30: Check ears and coat one last time. If scabs are going away it has worked.

Keep in mind that Mite eggs last 28-30 days so you must be consistent other wise you will never get rid of them.

Good Luck
