a friend for my parakeet

I have had my bird for a while now and I want to get him a friend. I don't know how the friend will react, or my bird I've had for a while. I am really considering buying a new bird, but what should I do? How will they react to one another?

parakeets usually like being together so it should be easy. They may act like they wont get along but after awhile they will get along so don't worry if you see them chasseing each other.
