Answer
Hi,

You will start to wean most big macaws around 3 to 4 months. Most macaws will wean completely by the time they are about 5 months. You will know when it is time to start weaning them when they start to learn how to fly. This would be the time in the wild when they would start to leave the nest and follow mom/dad around and begin to search for solid foods to help supplement the feedings they are still receiving from mom and dad.

I don't know the exact amound that they can hold in their crop, but you can watch their crop fill as you are feeding them to make sure you don't over fed them.
