Question
Indy our Ringneck
Indy our Ringneck
Thank you for your help Dr Abbott, I took Indy to our local avian vet & to all of our amazement we discovered a lone FLEA around his right ear.  Our vet was quite shocked has he had just explained that it is very unusual for birds to get fleas due to the density of their feathers, however I explained that I also have a cat and two English staffies whom all get on very well & frequently play wrestle together (yes, even Indy the bird). We do treat our cat and dogs with a monthly fleas treatment, however it was due to be administered again,so this is the only reason we could come up with to explain this little critter taking up residence on our beautiful Indy. Indy is now back to his normal, gentle, exquisite self, much to our relief.  Thank you once again for your invaluable information Dr Abbott & on your recommendation I have now disposed of the so called LICE TREATMENT & re administered the fleas control on or dogs and cat.  All the best Dr Kind regards Michelle

Answer
-- PERFECT!!  You did everything right.  It's nice to find someone who really means it when they say they love their companion.

By the way, your bird is identical to one I have been working with for the last 3 years (nothing serious) - I enjoy her immensely!  I often remind her owners that Jade is my very favorite little client and I mean it.

Right now she's decided her most favorite thing to play with is bottle caps.

Again, thank you for doing all the right things for your little Indy.
