Question
our parrot shared a cage with an amazon,we found him on the bottom of cage.we took him to vet but no better. we separated them. now he just sits on perch,puffed up.he seems very lethargic,shivers occaisionally.he will take food but more fussy than he was,only carrots or sunflower seeds.

Hello Paul and thank you for your post.
I am sorry that your bird is sick.  He does need to be seen by a Certified Avian Vet ASAP.  Not a vet for dogs and cats, but one for birds.  It sounds like he may have a respiratory infection and is in need of antibiotics.  Also, try getting him to take some Pedialyte to help keep him hydrated.  Carrots are fine to feed him, but he should not have sunflower seeds.  They contain a lot of fat which is really hard on his liver.
Also, try using a lamp with a low watt light bulb near his cage to help keep him warm.
