parakeet droppings

Question
Three days ago I got a new parakeet. In the past couple days, I have noticed that her droppings still remain attached to her behind and do not fall down to the bottom of the cage. They appear to be larger than normal. Maybe as a result of accumulation. I am concearned that she may be constipated. Other than that she appears to be fine, eating and drinking normally. Could this be a deficiency in her diet or maybe she is still stressed out from the environmental move?
Please help

Answer
This may, of course, be stress-related; however, there's also a possibility of something more serious. Whenever we bring a new bird in, we have the avian vet check. It serves a couple purposes: First, to have a medical record established and run the routine tests for any disease (peace of mind), and secondly, so our doctor knows this bird. If/when an emergency ever happens, we're established. We have someone to call in the middle of the night, on a holiday or weekend night, during the worst storm of the season - which is when all animals seem to decide to have their urgent needs : )

In the meantime, try offering some baby food fruits and/or vegetables as part of the diet.
Just a 1/2 teaspoon in the usual fresh food dish (offer plenty of dark, leafy greens).

If unusual droppings continue for more than 24 hours, it's absolutely necessary to see a vet.
