Answer
Hi, Carolyn,

I found your post in the question pool this morning.  I don't know why it was not answered when you submitted it.

I don't see any question here.  I'm going to assume you are concerned about whether your male is compatible with your new female?  If the male has never seen/been with another bird, and you've only had the female for 3 days (when you sent your post), you need to give them both some more time to get used to one another.  In addition, there are no guarantees when it comes to birds that 2 birds to be housed together will be compatible.  It's a chance we take when we purchase birds.  Just because we want them to be compatible, does not mean they will be compatible.  This is especially true for older birds who are more set in their ways.  Leave them next to each other for a while longer.  Then allow them both out of their cages to see how they do together outside of the cage.  If all goes well, you can then see how they do together in the same enclosure/cage.  It's usually best to put them together in a neutral cage in case your male is territorial about his cage (and most are).  However, your male might be so happy to see another bird, they may get along just fine (birds prefer other birds to humans).

It doesn't sound like you quarantined the new bird at all.  This is very important to ensure any potential illness/disease isn't spread from bird to bird.  It's too late to do this now since they have been exposed to one another.
