Hi, Angie.  Thanks for posting.

She's doing this because she can!  Parrots are very curious, especially young parrots who are investigating the world around them.  If you allow her out of her cage, which is a good thing, she's going to be tempted to check everything out that interests her.  You need to supervise her and teach her what she is allowed to get into and what she isn't allowed to get into.  Otherwise, you need to restrict the area she is allowed to play in.  This is similar to a human child who has a bunch of toys, but prefers to play with the kitchen pots and pans!

Answer
Hi again, Angie.  You'll need to keep her wing feathers clipped and restrict her play area to an area where she is allowed to play in and not able to get away from this area to other parts of your home where she can get your makeup, damage the wallpaper, etc.  You would have to keep cigarettes, lighters and the like up and away from her if you don't restrict her play area.  I don't know what type of setup you have with your parrot, i.e., do you have a cage sitting on some type of stand, do you have a play stand for your parrot separate from her cage, do you allow her to have free roam of your home whenever she wants, do you supervise her when she's out...I need more specific details before I can help you more with your dilemma.  Thanks.
