Question
Hi,

I've recently got a 10 year old senagal parrot from somebody who could no longer look after it. They have told me that it doesn't talk or make any sound. Is it possible that at 10 years of age that it learn to talk or make any sound.

Thanks alot

Answer
Hello Dewi,

Senegals can live to be 20-30 years old. So I would say your bird has 10-20 years left of learning to do. If he wants to mimic noises that is his choice.

I am concerned that you say your bird doesn't make any noise at all. Is this really true? This would indicate to me a very sick bird, I suggest an avian veterinarian exam immediately.
