Question
We have a mating pair of Pacific parrolets.  She is now layings eggs and neither seem to take an interest in the eggs.  What temperature is needed to ensure hatching?

Answer
There could be several factors that make it so that she isn't interested in the eggs- stress, health, environment, the season, age, etc.   Unfortunately, because of this, I can't tell you why she isn't showing interest in the eggs that they are producing.

For the eggs to develop, either the male or the female would need to sit on them constantly. So, if they are not sitting on them, they will not hatch. You could pull the eggs if you have the time/energy/money to raise incubator-hatched chicks. This is not recommended however, since it is healthier and safer for the parent birds to raise the babies until they are at least 2 weeks old.

Here is information on incubation of eggs:

To make sure that their basic needs are being met (to rule that out of reasons why they are rejecting their eggs) make sure to take them in for a vet check up if they haven't had one within the last year, or if they have been exposed to any new birds in the home, etc... and you can also read this informative article:

I hope this helps.
