Answer
Hi Blanca,

Greys, or any bird for that matter, are as individual as you and I.  One can be extrovert and the other introvert. While most Greys are excellent talkers, some never utter a word or make any sounds.  It can take up to 2 years or so for a bird to start talking and making regular sounds.

Have you taken them both to an avian veterinarian for "well-bird" exam?  I highly recommend doing so for anyone who's brought a new bird home DESPITE where the bird came from.

Since birds' hide illness for as long as possible, it's just best to rule out any medical concerns which may be causing a bird to act (or not act) a certain way.  Once this is done, be sure you're spending equal time with both of the birds one on one.  Grab some foot toys and play, or sit and read to them.

New birds tend to take a while to adjust when they are moved into a new home.  Some birds adjust quickly, but most need some time.  This could play a role in why the other bird is a little more reserve.  Give him some space and don't perform any training during the first week.  Take it a day at a time.  If he seems to be coming out of his shell a little more each day, then you can do more with him.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
