Housing birds one cage verse two

Question
I have two green-cheeked Conures. Sammie is a year old and Bonnie is four months. They currently live in separate cages and they spend four hours or so out of there cages with each other and me. They will go into each others cages, eat, play, bath, in either cage (while I'm home). I want to know your opinions on housing them together while I'm gone. I am not worried about fighting but am worried that they will bond too much to each other and leave me out.
Thanks for your time and hopefully your opinion.

Answer
You are right on point with believing that they'll bond with each other rather than staying bonded with you most of all.

No matter what, our birds are not allowed physical interaction with each other. We avoid many tragic accidents that way and keep them focused on their human rather than each other.
They are always in close proximity to each other, they chatter with each other and keep each other company - certainly bonded in their own way, but secondary to the bond between us and them.

 Keep up the good work!
