Question
Hi Carol
I have sulfur crested cockatoo he is about 9 months old and says hello shakes hands gives kisses and hasn't destroyed anything he doesn't live in a cage but on a stand I made from a gum tree which sits in lounge room healthy but isn't really active unless we play with him he is so quiet you'd think he was a statue. I which he wasn't so shy.  But one thing he does is grind his beak incestantly he like finger nails down a blackboard.
Thanks Ron Australia

Answer
Hi, Ron,

I found your question in the question pool this morning.  I don't know why it was not answered when you submitted it.

Parrots grind their beaks when they are content and happy.  They usually do this when they are resting, sleeping.  If your Too does this constantly, it could be that your bird is still "teething."  Yes, parrots teethe just like human toddlers do.
