BLUE GOLD MACAW

HI I JUST GOT MY BLU GOLD MACAW 2 WEEKS AGO FROM A FRIEND SEEMS HEALTHY, BUT I NOTICED A SLIGHTYELLOW COLOR AROUND THE EYES AND SOME SNEAZING AT NIGHT. SHE SEEMS OKAY SHES BEING FED DAILY SELECT BY PRETTYBIRD/PRETTYPET. wE HAVE BEEN GIVING HER APPLE N BANANAS N EVEN BABY PEAS. CAN IT BE AN ALLERGIC REACTION ? AGAIN HER BEHAVIOR HASN'T BEEN STRANGE.

Any time there is an odd eye coloration or sneezing you should take it to the vet. Allergies are not common in birds (it happens, but not often) so it's probably an illness. Since it's sneezing, it's probably a respiratory infection and the bird will be put on some liquid antibiotics. Not a big deal, but if you decide to wait and see if the symptoms get worse, the illness can get to the point where it will be costly, or even kill the bird.
