Question
Hi there,Is it possible to mix love birds, cockatiels & conures in the same aviary? I am new to breeding parrots & would appreciate your expert advice.thankyou,brian.

Answer
Depending on the size of the aviary, I've seen it successfully done.  I've also seen some serious, pretty stressful injuries when territory is infringed upon.
Lovebirds and 'tiels are both pretty aggressive birds and conures aren't all that easily bullied either.

If you're new to this, it would be best to start with a single pair of birds, probably 'tiels since they're not very difficult.

When it comes to breeding you must-must-must have an avian or other qualified vet on call in case something goes wrong with the chicks (or there's an egg binding problem with the female, which is life threatening if not treated immediately - even in the middle of the night).
Also, be prepared to hand feed the chicks if necessary, which may mean not being able to leave the house for more than an hour and having to stay up all night for a week (and no going to work either) since they need feeding every 2 hours, 'round the clock.

While these things shouldn't happen, they may happen and believe me, it's best to be ready than have it surprise you.
