Traveling with budgies

Do budgies travel well in cars in their cages for about 4 hrs with some rest?

Answer
Generally birds do fairly well traveling. I would recommend taking them on some short trips (around the block even, or just for short 5, 10, or 15 minute trips) to get them used to it. Especially if they've never been in the car before.

Make sure to take all swings and/or dangling toys out of the cage, so that when the car starts/stops, these items do not swing around and hit the birds.

Also, line the bottom of the cage with a soft blanket, incase the bird(s) losses their balance and falls.
