Training my new Budgie

Question
I have had my Budgie for about two weeks now and he is very scared of my hands, how long does it normally take for them to feel comfortable.  Can you give me any tips on training him to come out of his cage and things I can do to make him feel more comfortable.

Make sure the room you are in is quite and that you speak in a low voice, be sure to offer spray millet from your ahnds to see if he will take it, gently push a perch or your finger up against his belly right above his legs this will make his balance unsteady and he will get on the perchthen you may either leave him in his cage with him on your finger or try to remove him without him coming off.
