Question
My budgie Sapphire is almost four years old, and I've had him
for a little over three years.  He's a very social bird, and he sings
along to any noise he hears.  But he's terrified of humans.  If
someone gets too close to the cage, he'll quickly move to the
opposite side.  To let him out, I first have too catch him, and he
would never voluntarily land on you. If I catch him and put him
on my shoulder, he'll fly away as soon as I let go. He used to be
a bit more comfortable with me, but not much more.  How can I
get him to warm up to me?

Answer
Hello Sarah, Have you had him for four years?, if you follow this method you sould see some results within a week or two. Take him out by force with a tea towel or something else thats light, clip his wings and put him on your hand(do this in a room away from the sight of his cage) as if he can see his cage he'll try to get back to it. Talk to him gentaly everytiem your near him, storke him while he's on your hand, do this three times a day and he should be fairly tame in no time.
