handfeeding lovebirds

Question
we're hand-feeding two baby lovebirds. they're at the pinfeather stage and we;ve been feeding them about two weeks with no problems but now their crops are staying full much longer than we've seen them do before (we've raised other babies before, too). nothing has changed - same formula, same environment. they seem healthy and are pooping as usual. we did notice, on one day, some  slight orange or pinkish tinge to some of the poops. now the poops are normal. i'm not sure what the problem is or what to do about it. help!

Answer
hi roxanne

could you be feeding them to much.
the pinkish poop is something I would watch .
do you have a vet that you can call or visit.
there is a web site to visit www.lovebirds.com where you can email and ask questions to people that deal with lovebirds more. than I do.
could you be over feeding them
I do know that you have to be very careful when feeding them you can put a hole in their crop at that small of an age.
how many times aday are you feeding them.
take care Barbara
