hello my parrot(African grey has just started twitching and biting him/herself. his not bleeding or anything buts its just worrying me why he/she is doing it. do you no why he/she is doing it? should i have it checked out by a vet? thank you for your help from kerry

Hi, Kerry.  Thanks for posting!

I need more details/information from you about your grey before I can try and help you.  

How old is this parrot and how long have you had s/he?  Is this bird biting itself or plucking it's feathers?  You'll need to explain more about the twitching behavior so I can understand more about what is going on.  How much time do you spend with your grey?  Are they any other birds in the home?  What type of diet is your bird on?  I need more detailed information!

Greys are very intelligent parrots...probably the most intelligent parrot.  As a result, they need much human interaction on a daily basis (the more intelligent an animal is, the more human interaction it requires).  When they don't get the attention they require, they often times start exhibiting bad behavior.

Get back with me with more information, and I'll help as much as I can.
