Lovebird missing feathers around ears

We have a great little male lovebird that has scratched his head  until his ears are completely exposed. Is this a behavioral, nutritional or parasite problem? He seems to be happy and healthy otherwise. Is there something we can do?

While it is not unusual for a bird to love having it's head scratched, there might be a problem with your bird.  It could be nutritional, parasite, environmental, or just a bad habit that he has gotten into.
I recommend taht you take him into a Certified avian or an Exothic Animal Vet to rule out a physical or a parasite problem.
