cage and combining birds

Question
I have a quaker and a nanday conure parrot both females.  Currently each has their individual cage.  If I bought a bigger cage, would there be a problem of putting the birds in the same cage or is best to keep them in separate cages.  If it is possible to combine them, what would be the miminum size cage for these two birds?
thanks,

Answer
It's never a good idea to mix birds of different species, especially if you want them to stay tame (no matter how big the cage). Most of the time, one bird will pick on the other or they'll bond and not like you anymore. Quakers are VERY confidant birds (even will take on dogs. They're not afraid of anything) but the conure can easily "beat up" the quaker and when the quaker doesn't let the conure be dominant, you'll have a problem. I would just keep them in separate cages, but you can put the cages next to each other so they wont be lonely. You can also let them play together outside the cage.
