I AM AN INDIAN.I AM TIRED TO COLLECT A PAIR OF BIRDS WING-CLIP.YOU WILL BE KIND ENOUGH TO SHOW ME THE SHAPE  AND DESIGN OF A WING-CLIP.FIRSTLY I USED COTTON THREAD BUT H/SHE CUTTED IT BY PES.IT IS AN INDIAN RED NECK GREEN PARROT OF 2-3 MONTHS.NOW H/SHE CAN FLY ARROUND THE HALL.PLEASE HELP ME.
ANSWER: Hi Debashis,

I'm going to direct you to a website for wing clipping because I want to make sure to convey the information to you as clearly as possible. I think we may have a language barrier as I don't quite understand all of your question. I'm not sure I know what you mean when you say you used cotton thread. What did you use this for? Where you using it as a leash tied around her legs? If so this is not considered a safe practice for parrots. I recommend that you do extensive research on parrot care, behavior, and training. My website has several links to get to started.

Here is the website link for wing clipping:

QUESTION: Hi,Jennifer
Thank you for answering my question.
As per"cliping"I mean it to tie up big feathers closely with some thread, leash, some thing like gripping device etc.Because to tame a bird I don't want to cut any feather of a bird which is her beauty. Is there any other way of cliping with out cutting the feathers?

Answer
Hello,

The procedure you are describing would damage existing feathers and possibly damage the follicles. This would be much more harmful than a simple wing clip. In addition birds do no do well permanently leashed. For their physical and psychological health they need to be able to move about freely. If you want to live with a flighted bird or even a clipped bird then you must be willing to learn about parrot behavior and training.
