Hello and thank you for answering my question.
I have a Umbrella Crested Cockatoo.  His name is Fred and I have had him about 4 months now.  I don't know how old he is but he really talks good!
My question is: Fred seems to be making a nest in the bottom corner of his cage.  He is regurgitating food into the nest also.  He exhibits tail lifting and vent rubbing and screams a lot.  Is Fred a he or she??
I have 2 other cockatoos in separate cages -but close together.  One is a female and she is a lot smaller than the Fred and the other male. She exhibits some tail lifting but no nest building.  The male doesn't seem to show any of these behaviors.

Hello Deborra and thank you for your post.
It sounds like you have a female on your hands.  To the best of my knowledge, males do not build nests, however, they do regurgitate.
The only two ways to tell for sure what the sex of Fred is is either to take him/her to a Certified Avian Vet and have a DNA test done or wait and see if Fred lays eggs.
