Rats and Guinea Pigs living together

Question
I was wondering if I could keep my rats and guinea pigs together. I have 3 rats and 2 guinea pigs. The one rat is female and I just separated her because she was pregnant. I had them in separate cages, well my rats were in a glass tank till I could get another wire cage to keep him away from the female. The other day I came home and my dog knocked over the glass tank and it is not badly cracked. I don't want to keep the rats in the tank while its broke. Sadly I wont have any extra money for another week. i don't know what else to do with the 2 male rats except to put them in the cage with the guinea pigs, but I don't know if that is a good idea.

Answer
The answer is both yes and no. Sometimes they can live together if they are very social and well tammed. However each need different food and activities. Rats love to swim and to climb where guinea pigs like to run .I would give it a test while you are around to see. If all else fails you can put the rat in the cage and guinea in the tub till you can get another cage.
