Question
Do you know how to make a good mouse tret with seeds that will stick
together? Would peanut butter be good? I know glue would be horible, but is
there some sort of food that is like glue? I want to give my three mice-one is
pregnant-a nice and healthy, tasty treat!
Thanx,
helen

Answer
Dear Helen,
thank you for your question.
Peanut butter is too fatty for them. But it's easy to make your own mouse cookies. Mix mouse food with some flour and water until it's sticky and then make cookies on a baking try with a spoon. Bake them until they are dry (which takes between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on temperature and cookie size, I usually turn them over once) and them let them dry for another day or so. They are best stored in the freezer, especially if you want to mix vegetables or fruit into them.
Shredded or mashed carrot, apple, banana, zucchini, pear, strawberry or blueberries make good flavourings. You can also use oatmeal, dried herbs like parsley or basil, dried dandelion leaves, dried brine shrimp, pumpkin seeds, eggs or crumpled unsalted rice cookies.

You can fil the dough into toilet paper rolls or eggshells to make they harder to eat, that's more interesting for the mice. Small wooden sticks can be stuck into the dough to make chewing sticks (I always use McDonald's coffee stirrers, they are just the right size).
I hope I was of some help to you
