guinea pig vet?

I've been reading all of the questions on the board and I'm a little concerned. It seems like a lot of the vets people are going to don't have a lot of experience with cavies.  My new little sweetie isn't sick, but I know that if (or when) she does get sick, that's not the time to start looking for a vet who knows what they are doing. How do you recomend finding a vet who knows about cavies?  I had to buy her from a larger petstore (all the shelters/rescues were out, they all have homes around here isn't that great!) and I think they have a vet in that store, would that be acceptable? Thanks.

Any vet that is experienced in exotics should be able to know enough about piggies. You are correct though, many vets do not have enough skill where our little friends are concerned.

Try the cavy trust website for a list of specialist vets. Sorry I dont know the address.
