Question
I have two cavies that are a boy and a girl. The boy is Kenny and the girl is Issabella.I originally thought Issabella was a boy, but I dont think she looks at all like kenny's "area". I originally purchased Issy for a friend for Kenny, but since I found out Issy is a girl, I got separate cages for them. Now, my original plan for friendship is ruined because I really dont want them to breed(I dont know there history, and I dont really want to end up with 5 or 6 baby guineas running around). What do you think I should do? Can they still socialize while being in different cages? thanks bunches!

Answer
You can have guinea pigs living alone, although they are very social animals and really should be housed in pairs. Your only other alternative would be to get Kenny neutered. I had my male guinea pig neutered so that he would be able to go with my female as a friend. It worked out perfectly.

Hope this helps!
