Lump on the back of my guinea pig part two

Question
I came back from the vet and she told me that it was a tumor she told me that if it is not bothering him then there is no need to put him down. I asked if she could operate and she said that if she did then there is a chance that my guinea pig might poop in the place that she operated and then there would be more problems.

My question is if I asked her to operate is there a chance that it might save his life or will it make things worse then they are if they can get any worse.

Thanks Roger

Answer
Hi again,

While I would like to become a veterinarian some day, I am in no position to argue with one now.  From what you told me, it does not sound as if the tumor is life threatening or malignant, so operation or not, he will live comfortably.  I do not exactly understand what you told me about him pooping where she operated, but if your vet thinks it is very possible for the operation to make things worse, then I would advise against it.  However, if there is a small chance, then you should make the decision.
