Question
i bought a pair of piggies today from a pet store. everything was going well after some hours that i noticed something odd with the other piggy. it always stays on the food dish and once it is there, it barely moves (less active compared to the other) and doesnt allow the other one to come near the food dish; if it does, the other one drives it away. i found some lice on the "less active" piggy. i'm starting to wonder if it is ill. what should i do?

Answer
Hi Jap

Regarding the lice, a visit to the vet and some medication will sort that out.

Regarding the ther matter, the one pig is trying to establish dominance over the 2nd by not letting it near the food bowl. This is normal but in this case dangerous because both pigs need to eat. I am having a similar problem at the moment.

My initial advice would be to put a 2nd food bowl in there because the dominant pig cant guard both at the same time.

If you have any further difficulties let me know.
