my guinea pig oreo

my guinea pig is about 5 years old. He has had the normal diet of pellets with occasoinaly having lettus or carrots. But latly i have noticed when cleaning out his cage that there are large circular clumps of his poop. I would like to no if this is normal or if he is sick and what can i do to prevent it?

You will need to get this confirmed by a vet but it sounds like Oreo has the start of anal impaction. This is a common condition affecting older males which is where the anal muscles are weaker than they used to be.

If my suspicions are correct you will need to help Orea clear poop from his bottom each day.
