She had babies

Question
I didn't know if she was really pregnant, just fat, but she just had 3 babies.  I was taking a nap when my little girl woke me up.  One had died before I came downstairs to see.  So, now there are 2, one is more active than the other so I am afraid the other might die.

I haven't seen them nurse, so I hope everything will be ok.

So, now what do I do.  Should I Help feed them?  When will they start to eat regular food?  And how should I get water to them.  What we have is to high for them.

Any information would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks

Answer
The babies could possibly be clef palets, especially if you cleaned the other 2 babies off, and the mom had little or no interest in cleaning them. Usually when a mom does not clean a baby, there is a reason for it. Clef palets though usually die within the first 3 weeks, the one that is really weak probably will die within a week, but the other may survive, just watch them real closely. If the babies are sitting under the mom, she is most likely feeding them, but if they are sitting in the corner of the cage away from mom, she is most likely not feeding. They will eat some regular as soon as the first day, but they still need milk. If it sounds like she is not feeding them, offer them some goats milk diluted 2/3 goats, 1/3 water in a syringe, you can get the milk at Wal-Mart in the evaporated milk section. If they eat it, they are not getting fed. But if you see them spit milk through their nose, then they are clef palets, and will most likely die.
