Question
Hi, i have recently become the owner off three beautiful 8 week old females. they seem very happy and love cuddling up together on my lap, and eat loads!
the only problem is they are in an indoor cage (although they have a run and hutch in the garden in the day) in my bedroom and in the early hours off the morning they run around and squeel very loudly, the one almoat sounds like a kettle boiling- are they fighting? or just playing? i often put a carrot in before i go to bed, is this a bad idea ( is it giving them more energy at night). The other thing is one off my girls was a twin, although they are all sisters from the same litter, she seems to stare at me alot and crave attenion, and i think shes the one squeeking at night too. is she missing her twin?
ive only had them a week, so they may just need to settle in, but i feel like a new mum, worried about them!
sorry for the essay!
thanks
rachel

Answer
no that sounds like normal behaviour guinea pigs tend to be most active at first and setting light. there might be a little bit of scrapping going on to obut that is normal behaviour, the carrot is fine, carrots are great for guinea pigs.

they are quite vocal animals, its just what they do but to be on the safe side just watch them and make sure that the others do not herd her away from the food, water or occasionally nip at her, if they do then they might have an issue with the size of the cage.
