guinea pig sudden death

3 year old male recently castrated feb with no outward sign of why he died considering they have got over the winter cold  being in the garden all year round could he of picked up a virus or disease / could the weather have stressed him he lived with four females and they all seem fine and well please help

Firstly I am sorry to hear about your loss.

The problem is that guinea pigs always hide ill health well so he might have been sick for a while without displaying any noticable symptoms.

It could be cold-related, it could have been related to the neutering operation causing an infection, but I am just speculating. Sorry I cant give you any definate answers.
