Question
Hi, i was just wondering if guinea pigs can have twins, i have 2 of them, they have the same exact face and they are the same colour in every spot (their tummys are white and they are gray all around with white tips at the end) but they both have different type of hair

Answer
Hi Kim,

Guinea pigs do not have twins as such - they have between 1 and 6 babies in a litter, with 3 being the most common number of pups. However, piggies from the same litter have a good chance of looking very similar as they have the same father. If either of your piggies is a purebred, there is more chance of them producing similar-looking babies, particularly mini-me's.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Jenny.
