ear mites

We have had our guinea pig for about a month and a half and i just noticed yesterday that, in 1 ear, he had sort of an infection or something. I went online and found a good description that matched it because i didn't know what it was. The closest description was ear mites. What can I do at home to keep him and his ear healthy and clean?

well if there are mites i would recommend going to the vets to ensure that they hve not travelled too far into the ear. but there are simple ear drops that can be applied, you can buy these at most pet stores. depending on the severity of the infestation you may also need to apply a pig friendly antibiotic which i would recommend getting from the vets to ensure the correct dosage and duration of treatment.
