scared hampster

my hampster is scared of us and every time we pick him up he screams at us how do we make him not afraid? thank you, Melanie!

Answer
Its perfectly normal for a hamster to be scared at first. You just have to go slow with him. Put your hand in his cage and just let him sniff you. Once hes comfortable with that, put a little treat in your hand and see if he'll take it. Eventually he should relize your hands aren't going to hurt him and you should be able to pick him up.
